Co Founder, with Architect Lina Ahmad, of Design Reserach Unit LihMass. A unit dedicated to prompting creative solutions and delivering products and spatial proposals within UAE community; taking it as instigator, participant and receiver, while simultaneously accompanying the global technological advancement and rapid paradigm shift toward self-sufficiency and personal digital fabrication.

One of the aims of the reserach is to explore the concept of emergency architecture in developing countries, construction technology and materials, traditional architecture, Social Architecture.

AGRA, INDIA, Architecture of Rapid Change and Scarce Resorurces

The main body of the study was composed from field research that took place in the settlement of Marwari Basti, in Agra , India. The study concentrated on a specific type of community, a previously nomadic settlement which has settled in an urban environment.

The findings of the survey initiated an interest for establishing the needs of the community which gradually resulted in possible solutions in the development of proposals in the form of architectural interventions.

The purpose of the intervention, is to determine a possible building typology that can exist to support and encourage development and self-sufficiency in these communities.
